New Paint at Hickory Lodge

leave a comment »

After last week’s post on the upcoming Park District elections, I decided to visit Hickory Lodge. I was pleased to see the new paint on the balustrade.  As I walked around, I noticed that the garage also got a paint job recently:

It’s nice that the Park District is doing maintenance on Hickory Lodge after trying to sell it off a few years ago. Aside from cleaning up the graffiti, there is still work to do at Hickory Lodge:

On the plus side, the giant stump that has protruded from the northeast lawn has been cut out of the ground and looks like it is ready to be hauled away.  If the Park District catches up on maintenance, it could probably book more weddings and other events and maybe earn some money as a consequence of improving the property.

Comments are welcome.
